excerpt from Pray Daddy (2020)

Role: Writing, Performance

Pray Daddy is a series of interventions that excavate absence and grief after the loss of the artist's father in 2016. The artist uses their personal experience to explore the symbolic death of a certain kind of masculinity and the possibilities of gender euphoria beyond that death. This work includes a performance, a digital experience, and a forthcoming novel. Done with the support of the Immersive Realities Lab for the Humanities, Alice Yard and the CATAPULT Grants for Caribbean Artists.

Team: Xoë Sazzle, Omar Jarra, Elechi Todd, Nigel Williams, Amir Denzel Hall, Alicia Virrauel, Andrew Smith, Reuben Gonzales, Suelyn Choo.
