Role: Creative Direction, Performance
HWDOWBH is an iterative VR performance ritual and digital experience that grapples with how water, dance, and a collective yearning for home connect Black people across time and geography.
In the performance, two devotees of Edana, an amalgam of water deities from the African diaspora, perform iterative interactive rituals at different points on the Transatlantic slave trade route. These rituals invoke Edana who advocates spiritually and digitally for the protection of the Black soul from capture.
